Helped the startup team realize their portable wifi key along with various other accessories that would expand both user and client adoption. Check out the demo day video here.
Worked on the hardware and app development for the first cellular all connected outdoor streaming music player. Through some clever brainstorming we even incorporated and automatic camera feature to capture all those amazing moments hands free.
Check out the demo day video here Worked on the overall design and prototyping of the BioRanger field unit that does onsite sampling of crop diseases or infections. This product has a potential the change massively how crop loss is dealt and managed. Check out the demo day video here
SnowShoe Stamp websiteThis project I was involved with a startup in sketching up some new forms of their product (check out the site link above to see how it works). Once a design direction was selected I brought the shape into Solidworks (CAD) and discovered an efficient 2 piece construction for production, 3D printing the designs also helped in proving this approach.
This app has been a passion project of mine for over a year with it originally being titled "mailslate". During the design process I went through so many wireframes to eventually learn that the app needed to be stripped down to 4 pure essential functions (News, Mail, Photos, Contacts) with the aim to be the main app on an ipad for your grandparents to easily communicate with family.
This has been a connected hardware project I started also about a year ago. We are currently applying to the R/GA (techstars) connected devices accelerator here in New York. The site is just a quick blog I created to show the of the development process...sketches, models, some of the hands on stuff needed to realize a product.
This has been a project in the works for over a year in the background. We have now launched (beta) and we are currently a team of three co-founders. We went through various UX/UI explorations to get to the current product and below are examples of my process to visualize the UX flow.
A fun two day exercise after my first impressions of the Amazon Kindle 7" HDX
*Amazon brand and Kindle are the property of Amazon.com Currently working on an ios app. Leveraging Adobe Illustrator to quickly work out various wire frames and flow charts while "Fluid.ui" will allow for actual ipad simulation to test the UX.
www.ChirpCamera.com Currently in progress. This is a wi-fi project where I often work on the branding, UX and software interface all together. I utilize both rapid physical and virtual (CAD models) prototyping to make sure proportions of components match correctly. This work is a fast beta level effort to balance design with real world target costs.
Personal Kickstarter project that reached over 720% of it's goal. This was an intensive but rewarding two months of product design and development which also included all the branding. Rainscarf is the first fully reversible scarf that reveals a secret rain hood inside.
Worked as the design director at i2design in China. The entire site design, branding and actual products were overseen by myself along with setting new company standards for quoting, sourcing and manufacturing services with clients.
Product for www.flexroller.com This was a product I designed as an upgrade for the existing flex roller shelves at www.flexroller.com. This allowed all major retail shelving to have integrated branding or themes to be printed and slid within clear front windows of shelves. The material also allowed for LED illumination, easier retrieval of product (it flexes) while providing a new retail branding options and a clearer yet exciting retail experience.
products for www.lighting-hm.com Designed products to target the growing hotel hospitality lighting market. Products provided new ambient experiences and improved navigational lighting for guests. Huaming currently is a major outdoor LED lighting supplier and new shift in strategy was to get some excitement for indoor solutions.
design process Design process for a cost effective stick on safety cover (uses 3M VHB tape) for outlets. The work flow was to sketch, quickly build concepts using Google SketchUp and then eventually to rapid prototype models. Final design has a slide away latch with an auto-closing door, this requires a two hand operation (key insight discovered for child safety) making it child proof.
products + branding for www.justsolutionsproducts.com Designed a collection of clever home good products for JustSolutionsProducts to be sold at major retailers for the home. All aspects of design, engineering, manufacturing and packaging were provided. Also included was an extra effort to improve both the branding and website which were updated to be more attractive to buyers.
product pitch for www.GenuineMicroDry.com This is an example of a quick product pitch promo. The main goal is to establish a target price first and then show product solutions. This was an idea for a nicely stylized hanging closet organizer for men that organizes various personal items while also including a neat LED light feature.
products for MoMA competition www.moma.org Worked with a fellow industrial designer, Nathan Gabriele and the logo "n/a" combining our first names was created. Various products were designed and sampled for submission into the MoMA gift store collection. All objects had specific price target requirements and needed to be manufactured in the US.
nautical frame designs and renders for a client A quick project for a client to design and render nautical frames. I used this opportunity to improve my rendering skills using Modo and going more in depth with texture mapping.
product concepts and renderings for a client Worked with a client to create a collection of home good products utilizing silicone rubber. Started playing with Modo as new software to generate quick renderings.
